What is a Financial Coach?
A financial coach is a person with the heart of a teacher who does the following:
- understands your situation
- provides information to help you make decisions
- gives hope for your financial future
How does a coach differ from a counselor?
A counselor looks at the past and helps you figure out what happened and why. A coach starts with the present and looks forward.
Who will benefit the most from coaching?
Any person who is open to new ways of relating to money, and who wants personalized suggestions for changing behaviors.
What if I want coaching but my spouse doesn't?
Unity in your finances creates and nurtures unity in your marriage. You cannot have unity if one of you doesn't want it. I only coach couples together. If you have a reluctant spouse, please see this article by Dave Ramsey for some ideas on what to do.
Are you trying to sell me something?
No. I am not licensed to sell insurance or investments. There is no kit to purchase. I am here to offer you hope and the assurance that there is a better away and you can get control of your finances.
What kind of training do you have?
I have attended an intense training session at the Ramsey Solutions office in Nashville, TN. I then completed 3 months of one-on-one mentorship with a Ramsey Solutions senior financial coach. I have also led 11 sessions of Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University over the past 5 years.
What if I don't live in your area?
Financial coaching can be conducted via telephone, Skype, Google Hangouts, or any other 21st century way of communicating. However, coaching is only done in person, not through email. We will use email to send the initial forms but the actual coaching session will be done personally.
How much do you charge for bookkeeping?
Prices for bookkeeping are determined on a client-by-client basis. For a free consultation to determine your needs, please contact me through this site.
